Job summary

Scubyt Inc. is seeking an RTL Power Engineer in Mountain View/Austin to own CPU energy modeling, power analysis, and optimization efforts. You will collaborate with CPU and SoC Power teams to enhance battery-life analysis and CPU energy efficiency in real-world workloads.

The role requires 3+ years of hardware, power, RTL experience and a strong foundation in low-power design. This is a full-time position with on-site work in Mountain View, CA or Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, CS, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience in hardware, power, RTL, or related engineering.
• Strong understanding of low-power fundamentals and CPU power modeling.

Responsibilities

• Drive CPU architecture and system-level energy modeling activities.
• Perform competitive performance and power analysis and develop power optimization strategies.
• Develop novel power-analysis techniques, optimization engines, and tooling solutions.
• Analyze CPU power consumption across representative workloads such as YouTube, Facebook, and other real-world applications.
• Collaborate with CPU and SoC Power teams on power analysis, projections, and CPU power requirements.
• Perform workload analysis for battery-life studies and define tests for power analysis and optimization.
• Perform RTL- and gate-level data-mining analysis to identify relevant microarchitectural transactions for high-level power estimation.
• Develop and automate power-analysis and profiling flows using Python, C, C++, and related tools.
• Support CPU benchmarking, performance analysis, and competitive studies.
• Analyze power and performance data and communicate findings to cross-functional engineering teams.
