Job summary

Pharmatech, Inc. is seeking an R&D Scientist to design and develop custom formulations of powders, liquids, and capsules for health-focused beverages and nutraceutical products.

You will oversee development from concept to commercialization, including hands-on formulation, scale-up, and manufacturing support. The role involves collaborating with manufacturing development, operations, and customers, and requires strong knowledge of beverage processing, regulatory requirements, and supplier

Qualifications

• Four-year college or university degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related degree
• 5+ years of product formulation experience in manufacturing
• Experience with RTD beverage development and acidified foods is a plus

Responsibilities

• Development & manufacturing support of health & wellness focused RTD beverages.
• Provide knowledge on process & technologies available for nutraceutical and nutritional manufacturing.
• Perform & monitor bench-top & manufacturing scale-up batches.
• Resolve technical challenges.
• Master the internal formulation systems for development & commercialization.
• Build relationships with suppliers & partners to access ingredients, education, packaging, consulting, & technology that could help bring competitive advantage.
• Maintain a working knowledge of current trends, technologies, ingredients, processes, & equipment within the dietary supplement & functional food industries.
• Work with competent Process Authorities in determining sufficient processing needs.
• Create Supplement / Nutrition Facts panels for products based on current regulatory requirements.
• Clearly present & articulate product ideas & innovations to internal & external customers.
• Light travel (1-3 weeks per year).
