Job summary

Finlays Solutions is seeking an R&D Scientist to drive beverage prototype development from concept to commercialization, documenting ingredients, formulations, and processing directions. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams and interfaces with customers to deliver scalable, innovative solutions.

The incumbent will conduct shelf-life stability studies, develop DOE-driven processes, and participate in sensory training and product testing, supporting cost savings and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field with 2+ years experience OR 5+ years in the food industry.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and labeling regulations.
• Ability to assess analytical parameters and shelf-life.
• New product development and stage-gate launches experience.
• Willingness to taste and evaluate juice, coffee, tea, caffeine and dairy products.
• Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of beverage prototypes from concept to commercialization, documenting ingredients and processing directions.
• Conduct shelf-life stability trials to document changes in sensory and analytical properties.
• Work with external applications to deliver DOE of new processes/ingredient technologies.
• Pass and complete sensory training for coffee cuppings and descriptive panels.
• Represent Finlays as primary R&D counterpart for key accounts; develop new products and formulations; provide lab benchtop samples for tastings.
