Job summary

A-Gas is seeking a Shift Lead for the RTC and Refriclaim departments in Bowling Green, OH. The role leads refurbishment and production activities to meet customer needs, ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and mentors team members.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the production supervisor, troubleshooting issues, maintaining records, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring a Zero Harm environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, sit, squat, and stand for long periods.
• Dependable, solid attendance record.
• Able to clearly communicate, read and write.
• Ability to follow job instructions and meet responsibilities.
• Willing to work overtime and meet KPIs.
• Hazmat regulations familiarity preferred.

• Coordinate overtime needs and coverage with management.
• Keep work area clean and compliant with procedures.
• Update Lean Boards tracking throughput and downtime.

RTC Department is responsible for refurbishing cylinders or containers to proper capacity and DOT Certification using standard operating procedures. The team lead is responsible for all activities in the RTC and Refriclaim departments, under the supervision of the production supervisor. The lead may stand in for the supervisor as required and leads other operators in how to carry out various tasks, assist in the monitoring of production performance to ensure that production targets are met, and ensures that all employees work in a Zero Harm work environment for all activities, leading by example.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the production supervisor the refurbishment and production for ½ ton and 1 ton production requirements for outside key customers and internal needs.
• Communicate operational issues, safety concerns, and personnel matters to the Supervisor.
• Serves as a technical expert and troubleshooting equipment or process issues and leads the shift or work area during daily operations.
• Provide on the job training and mentoring.
• Ensure all completed production is entered into the company database for accurate throughput tracking.
• Assists with scheduling, inventory tracking and coordination with maintenance and other departments.
• Serves as a role model for safety, quality and operational excellence.
• Works with management and team to coordinate overtime needs and coverage.
• Accurately maintains records and ensures that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Keep the work area clean and free of unneeded cylinders and equipment.
• Update Lean Boards as required, tracking throughput, downtime, and performing root causes to assist in driving continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED Required
