As a Night Shift Respiratory Therapist, you will manage ventilator care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and build strong patient relationships while delivering high‑quality respiratory services in a post‑acute setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Required Respiratory Therapist certifications.
• Ability to function independently during night shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment.
• Administer prescribed gases and aerosolized medications; monitor patient response.
• Perform respiratory assessments and evaluate patient progress.
• Ensure treatment parameters are accurate (volume, gas concentration, humidity, temp).

Night Shift Respiratory Therapist (RT) Responsibilities

The Night Shift Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care services in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and state regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment
• Administer prescribed therapeutic gases and aerosolized medicationsMonitor patient response to respiratory therapy treatments
• Perform respiratory assessments and evaluate patient progress
• Ensure treatment parameters including volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature are accurate
• Observe, troubleshoot, and adjust respiratory equipment to ensure optimal therapy
• Report adverse reactions or changes in patient condition to physicians and nursing staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required
• Inspect, test, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment; arrange for repair as needed
• Assist with training and education of staff as appropriate

Requirements – Night Shift Respiratory Therapist (RT)

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
• Required Respiratory Therapist certifications
• Ability to function independently during night shift hours
• Strong communication and clinical skills
• Commitment to patient‑centered respiratory care

Education & Experience

• One to three months of Respiratory Therapist experience and/or training preferred
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered
