AEP is seeking an on-site Real Time Operations Infrastructure Specialist in Fort Wayne, IN to support and maintain critical 24/7 IT/OT infrastructure for Transmission Operations. The Associate level handles lower-level tasks with guidance, documents changes, and assists users in a collaborative team setting.
The role advances to Grade 7 with more independent responsibilities, OT risk evaluation for SCADA/EMS, and a broader scope, including on-call duties and occasional travel where required.

The Real Time Operations Infrastructure Specialist function establishes an understanding of Transmission Operation Systems infrastructure and processes and will involve various assignments related to planning, building, and maintaining IT/OT Infrastructure systems (hardware and software) for critical 24/7/365 real-time operations facilities. The Specialist Associate level is responsible for lower-level infrastructure tasks under the guidance of senior team members, referring to technical documentation for support, configuration, regulatory compliance, and monitoring system performance to resolve issues. The Specialist level will independently or with little guidance handle infrastructure assignments, produce technical documentation for compliance, monitor system performance, and resolve issues. Additionally, the role includes managing technical platforms, supporting users, and participating in a collaborative team culture.

This is an onsite position based out of Ft Wayne, IN.
Education: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in an applicable area OR equivalent education and experience of a high school diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience in an applicable area or certification in an applicable area. Applicable areas defined as: IT/OT System Administration, IT/OT Application Support, Cyber Security, ADMS/DMS/EMS/OMS/SCADA. Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
Experience: No additional experience beyond that listed in education is required.
Licenses/Certifications: CompTIA A+ or other Computer Science certification preferred.

This position will be based out of San Angelo during the training period and then be based out of Ft. Stockton. Successful candidate must reside in San Angelo during training and then Ft Stockton after. Supervise the Station Electrician and/or the Station Servicer crews in the construction and/or maintenance and operations work; respond to station trouble calls and perform/assist in service restoration work of station equipment and structures. Plan and schedule work assuring a safe and efficient flow of activities. Lead crews in a manner that is supportive of and consistent with the Transmission cultural pillars and the AEP Leadership framework. Assure all work will be performed in accordance with Company safety rules and practices. Perform Station Electrician and/or Station Servicer work as required. Activities associated with the performance of this work include planning procedures, directing or supervising assigned crew members, and exercising independent judgment in dealing with work and employee concerns.
