Job Summary

Responsible for tasks that ensure TFS' critical data is as perfect in real time as it possibly can be. This involves coordinating with field teams and other personnel across Energy Delivery, gathering data, and entering data, as well as employing mature technical skills and experience to analyze TFS asset data for accuracy and completeness. This position is part of a team that ensures proper stewardship of TFS' critical data.

What you’ll do:

With instruction and limited supervision, the Associate level in this job family may be requested to perform any of the following:

This position requires both technical knowledge and analytics skills to ensure that the design of capital projects is reflected accurately by the equipment in the asset database.

The technical knowledge provided by a technical degree or experience in the electrical industry is preferrable to performing the work.

At the beginning of each capital project, engineering will provide the successful candidate with Issued for Construction one lines, schematics, a bill of material and a new asset form.

  • Perform a thorough comparison of the one line to the new asset form to the bill of material
  • Discrepancies of equipment data on any of the sources must be discussed with the engineer and resolved
  • Upload the validated project assets into the database

Data accuracy to begin the project life cycle of an asset is a critical requirement.

Job Tasks requiring Technical skills:

  • Print reading: construction prints and post construction prints to ensure data compliance
  • Ability to review multiple data sources in an organized manner
  • Create station location hierarchy for a project within the database that reflects the project
  • Add capital project assets and asset attributes to the database
  • Utilize Vault(print platform) and notifications to perform work
  • Update and monitor project status through the asset entry lifecycle through a tracking system
  • Assist with refining Power BI visualizations of work metrics

Job Tasks requiring Analytical skills:

  • After new assets are uploaded to the database, ensure the Capital Checklist and Commissioning Actions are created.
  • Provide data support for field and engineering personnel by responding to questions, tracking work and resolving issues.
  • Support continuous process improvement through team discussions

Job Task requiring Personal skills:

  • Promptly, clearly communicate data discrepancies with engineering
  • Attend daily team meetings to review individual work progress and team workload
  • Demonstrate accountability with personal work by meeting Service Level Agreements
  • Demonstrate commitment to database integrity through data validation of new and existing asset change

What we’re looking for:

TFS Asset Analyst SG5

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience
  • Or a high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related utility industry work experience.

In addition:

  • Print reading technical expertise and understanding of electrical principles.
  • Database knowledge or ability to learn.
  • Preferred Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields and 2 years of related utility industry work experience
  • Physical demand level is Sedentary.
  • Travel may be required.

Where you’ll work:

This role sits on site in Roanoke, Virginia- must be on the AEP system and work in an AEP facility

**This position will be based out of San Angelo during the training period and then be based out of Ft. Stockton. Successful candidate must reside in San Angelo during training and then Ft Stockton after.Supervise the Station Electrician and/or the Station Servicer crews in the construction and/or maintenance and operations work; respond to station trouble calls and perform/assist in service restoration work of station equipment and structures.
