Job summary

Metric Search, partnering with a steel manufacturer in the Tacoma area, seeks a Radiographic Testing Technician (RT) Level I/II to support inspections of large steel castings. The role is on-site and full-time, requiring careful adherence to radiation safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• RT Level I or II certification required.
• Experience with radiographic inspections of large steel castings preferred.
• Familiarity with film interpretation and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety and NDT procedures.
• US person due to export-controlled work.

RT Field Technician - Level I or Level II

Tacoma, Washington | Full-time | On-site

Metric Search is partnering with an established steel manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Radiographic Testing Technician for its Tacoma-area operation.

The position will support the inspection of large, complex steel castings used in highly regulated and safety-critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and perform conventional radiographic inspections on large steel castings
• Operate X-ray and gamma radiography equipment
• Position sources, calculate exposures and produce high-quality radiographs
• Process and review film for image quality
• Interpret and evaluate radiographic film, where Level II qualified
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain traceable records
• Follow all radiation safety, quality and customer requirements
• Work alongside Quality and Production teams to reduce retakes and improve inspection throughput

Requirements:

• Current or previously held RT Level I or Level II qualification
• Large steel casting experience is strongly preferred
• Level II candidates must be experienced in film interpretation and evaluation
• Strong understanding of radiation safety and industrial NDT procedures
• Must meet applicable U.S. person requirements due to export-controlled work
