Acuren Inspection is seeking temporary RT Assistants with State or IRRSP card for turnaround work. This role supports our U.S.

Workforce Deployment Team across customer sites nationwide, with assignments varying in duration based on project needs. The RT Assistant (Radiographer Assistant) helps Radiographers with setup and operation of radiographic testing equipment while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have 40-hour radiation safety training and be able to ensure compliance with safety policies.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic understanding of industrial radiography and radiation safety principles.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions under supervision.
• Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Valid driver's license may be required for field work.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiographers with setup and execution of industrial radiographic testing activities.
• Support safe handling, setup, transportation, and storage of radiographic equipment.
• Maintain radiation-controlled areas, barricades, and warning devices as directed.
• Assist with radiation surveys and monitoring activities per procedures and regulations.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain documentation and logs.
• Position equipment and components for testing; prepare work areas before and after testing.
• Perform pre-use inspections and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
• Maintain dosimetry and radiation monitoring devices as assigned.
• Collaborate with Radiographers, NDT technicians, and site personnel; participate in safety meetings.
• Adhere to codes, standards, procedures, and customer specifications; perform other duties as assigned.

Education

40-Hour Radiation Safety Training

High school diploma or GED

Basic understanding of industrial radiography and radiation safety principles

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
