Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University’s Data Science and AI Institute (DSAI) seeks a Research Software Engineer – Image Analysis & Microscopy. Qualifications

• Master's in a quantitative field with strong computing background.
• 3+ years of software development experience on large projects.
• Experience in AI/ML model development, training, and application to scientific data.
• Experience with data science pipelines, ETL, and big data processing at scale.
• Ability to co-author scientific publications and communicate complex software concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RSEs and scientists to deliver AI software solutions.
• Develop software architectures and data pipelines for AI/ML workflows.
• Analyze large datasets on cloud or on-premises and design scalable solutions.
• Create data models and software components with robust, portable design.
• Contribute to open-source-style code and documentation; co-author publications if applicable.
• Provide guidance, deliver talks, and participate in short courses as needed.
