POSITION SUMMARY

The Cab Electric Technician works on the electrical components of the backend, front, and sides. Applies corrosion preventative and pressure protection to ensure longevity. They must install and routes wires/cables for the installation of lights, display, switches, and heat exchange. They will also be assigned to install engine and body harnesses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values.The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Works on the electrical components of the backend, front, and sides of the fire truck chassis.
  2. Installs engine, dash, and body harnesses according to the specifications.
  3. Installs and routes wires/cables for the installation of lights, display, switches, and heat exchange.
  4. Applies corrosion preventative and pressure protection to ensure longevity.
  5. Performs and completes tasks according to the spec book.
  6. Completes engine heat exchange unit installation.
  7. Installs foot switches, light bars, antennas, and programs then accordingly.
  8. Utilizes Alison and other programs to tune engine, lights, and transmission to specifications.
  9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the company and our members.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Knowledge of low voltage wiring is preferred.

Skills:

Language:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Math:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
  • Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure.
