Job description

RS Aircraft Technician Sr A&P - 2nd Shift in GAC Appleton

Unique Skills:

Must be willing to work 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-1:30AM, and any overtime required to meet aircraft delivery schedules.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED. 4 years of Aviation Maintenance Experience including 3 years working on mid/large size aircraft. Corporate aircraft experience preferred. FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required. Valid Driver's License required.

Position Purpose: Independently perform aircraft modifications and maintenance functions such as removal and installation of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical components, and control systems to ensure conformance to procedures, performances, and test specifications.

Job Description:

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

  1. Perform required periodic maintenance and servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems, demonstrating the ability to complete tasks within standard CMP time.
  2. Provide work direction for technicians; promote high quality standards through instruction and example.
  3. Act on behalf of Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) in their absence, assuming duties when assigned.
  4. Coordinate with Inspection department to ensure FAA compliance; complete work orders, shift turnovers, and paperwork timely, ensuring quality standards.
  5. Identify (tag) customer property and equipment; store aircraft components securely and safely.
  6. Follow SOPs and JSAs when operating ground support equipment; operate and supervise use of support equipment for component removal and installation.
  7. Coordinate aircraft movement as required.
  8. Assist in training new employees on CMP, SRMs, IPC usage, flight test installations, and maintenance of major components.
  9. Coordinate with other departments for overhaul or repair of customer property.

Additional Functions:

  1. Use material tracking systems for parts demand and labor charge entries.
  2. Apply 6S and Lean initiatives to maintain clean, organized work areas; dispose of waste fluids properly.
  3. Implement continuous improvement processes across responsibilities.
  4. Maintain company-provided tools and return after use.
  5. Support aircraft certification and testing, including flight tests as required.

Other Requirements:

  1. Advanced knowledge of aircraft inspection and maintenance procedures for various models and systems.
  2. Proficiency with technical reference materials (manuals, IPCs, SBs, drawings, ADS).
  3. Knowledge of FAA regulations, process specs, Repair Station and QC manuals, company policies.
  4. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
