Job description

RS Aircraft Technician Sr A&P - 2nd Shift in GAC Appleton

Unique Skills:

Must be willing to work 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-1:30AM, and any overtime required to meet aircraft delivery schedules.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. 4 years of Aviation Maintenance Experience, including 3 years working on mid/large size aircraft. Corporate aircraft experience preferred. FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required. Valid Driver’s License required.

Position Purpose: Independently perform a variety of aircraft modifications and maintenance functions, such as removal and installation of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical components, and control systems to ensure conformance to procedures, performances, and test specifications.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform required periodic maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems, demonstrating the ability to perform tasks within standard CMP time.
  2. Provide work direction for assigned technicians, promoting high standards of quality.
  3. Act on behalf of Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) in their absence and assume duties when assigned.
  4. Coordinate with Inspection department to ensure compliance with FAA and internal inspection and documentation requirements, completing work orders and paperwork timely.
  5. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment, and store aircraft components securely.
  6. Follow SOPs and JSAs when operating ground support equipment, supervising the use of special support equipment for major component removal and installation.
  7. Coordinate aircraft movement as required.
  8. Assist in training new employees on CMP, SRMs, IPCs, flight test installations, and maintenance of major components.
  9. Coordinate with other departments for overhaul or repair of customer property.

Additional Functions:

  1. Use material tracking system for parts demand and labor charging.
  2. Apply 6S and Lean initiatives to maintain clean and organized work areas, and dispose of waste properly.
  3. Implement continuous improvement processes.
  4. Maintain tools and equipment, returning items after use.
  5. Support aircraft certification and testing, including flight tests as needed.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  1. Advanced knowledge of aircraft inspection and maintenance procedures.
  2. Familiarity with technical reference materials and FAA regulations.
  3. Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
