Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, treating, and monitoring patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Administering oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and other respiratory treatments.
• Managing and monitoring mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation.
• Responding to emergency situations, including Code Blue and Rapid Response events.
• Performing diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gas sampling, pulse oximetry, and pulmonary function testing (as applicable).
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Documenting patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Educating patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and home care equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and respiratory care best practices.
