Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status.
• IL Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal through geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance and quality control activities.
• Communicate treatment being performed to patient and family clearly.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, with emphasis on neonatal/pediatric care.
• Educate patients and staff as needed.
