Job Summary

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist on our team, you will deliver the best therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support respiratory care procedures in general and intensive patient care areas, or home care environments.

1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients of all ages.
2. Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care.
3. Manage resources, establish priorities, and modify the environment to meet patient care needs.
4. Participate in unit, hospital, and organization activities to facilitate staff participation and input in decision-making.
5. Serve as a role model for clinical practice to coworkers, students, and physicians.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate degree and/or certification from a CoARC-approved school of respiratory therapy. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: No experience required; 1-3 years' experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Other: Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required. Must complete orientation and competency validation. Ability to acquire BLS within 3 months. Some areas may require ACLS, NRP, PALS certification within one year. Active membership in AARC preferred.
