Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (PRN) to provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care across care settings. You will work with advanced respiratory technology and collaborate with physicians and nurses to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role includes assessing respiration, delivering evidence-based therapies, managing ventilation, and supporting newborn stabilization when needed.

Qualifications

  • ACLS certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Neonate Resuscitation within 90 days of start date.
  • PALS within 90 days of start date.
  • NBRC-RRT certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • RRT/RCP-State certification as Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Assess respiratory status and determine need for interventions.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen, meds, and airway clearance techniques.
  • Manage ventilation and airways, including invasive/noninvasive ventilation.
  • Educate patients and families, assist clinicians, and support newborn stabilization when needed.
  • Maintain and sanitize equipment, ensure readiness and infection control standards.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist,you’llplay an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments.You’llperform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings.You’llhave access to advanced respiratory technology, mentorship from experienced RT leaders, and the support of a dependable, collaborative team that will set you up for success and ongoing professional growth. Your role will include:

  • Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
  • Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
  • Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
  • Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
  • Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
  • Associate Degree
