Job summary

UF Health in The Villages, FL seeks a Respiratory Therapist to support patient care under the Director/Manager, performing assessments and delivering therapies per AARC guidelines in collaboration with the healthcare team, documenting findings accurately, and supporting respiratory care across shifts including maternal-child services where applicable.

Candidates must hold a Florida RRT license and current BLS, ACLS and PALS; if needed, NRP must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED (required) with some college, business, technical training, or Associates of Science Degree (preferred).
• Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure/registration.
• BLS.
• ACLS.
• PALS.
• NRP. Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• If assigned to maternal-child services, NRP and PALS certification are required; hireable staff without NRP or PALS will have 90 days to obtain them.

Overview

The Respiratory Therapist acts under the direction of the Director/Manager, utilizing Respiratory therapy processes based on American Association of Respiratory Care Guidelines, Statement of Ethics and Professional Conduct: facilitating patient care with the healthcare team, making respiratory assessment, implementing, delivering and evaluating the patient’s respiratory therapy needs.

Qualifications

• Education:- High School Diploma/GED (required) with some college, business, technical training, or Associates of Science Degree (preferred)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist/RRTLicensure/Certification/Registration:- Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist
• BLS

• As applicable RCP staff assigned to maternal-child services will be required to have NRP and PALS certification. Therapist hired without NRP or PALS will have 90 days to obtain their NRP and PALS certification.
