Job summary

ECU Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide safe, efficient care under supervision, evaluating and treating patients of all ages with respiratory or cardiopulmonary disorders. The role includes potential PFTs, EKGs, and other testing with competency, plus documentation and patient education.

With a day shift schedule and competitive benefits, the position requires NC RCP licensure, BLS/ACLS, and RRT with experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
• Active licensure with the NC Respiratory Care Board upon hire and maintained yearly.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2 years post-grad experience.
• Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) within 1 year of hire; if under 16, PALS; if infant, NRP within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, treat, and manage patients of all ages with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• May perform patient testing (PFTs, EKGs) with competency.
• Document care in the patient medical record accurately, timely, and legibly.
• Engage in clinical decision-making, care planning, and patient education.
• Assist with billing for services rendered.
