Job summary

UF Health Central Florida is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to work under the supervision of the Director/Manager, delivering respiratory therapy according to AA Respiratory Care Guidelines and ethical standards.

The role requires Eduction in HS Diploma/GED with some college or AS degree, Florida RRT licensure, and active BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications. English fluency is essential, and staff assigned to maternal-child services must obtain NRP/PALS within 90 days if not already certified.

Qualifications

• Florida-registered RRT licensure/certification/registration
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications included or pursued
• Must read, write, speak and understand English

Overview

The Respiratory Therapist acts under the direction of the Director/Manager, utilizing Respiratory therapy processes based on American Association of Respiratory Care Guidelines, Statement of Ethics and Professional Conduct: facilitating patient care with the healthcare team, making respiratory assessment, implementing, delivering and evaluating the patient’s respiratory therapy needs.

Qualifications

• Education: - High School Diploma/GED (required) with some college, business, technical training, or Associates of Science Degree (preferred)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist/RRT Licensure/Certification/Registration: - Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist
• - BLS
• - ACLS
• - PALS
• - NRP
• Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• - As applicable RCP staff assigned to maternal-child services will be required to have NRP and PALS certification. Therapist hired without NRP or PALS will have 90 days to obtain their NRP and PALS certification.
