Job summary

Role Overview

The Respiratory Therapist provides specialized respiratory care by applying critical thinking and clinical skills. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), the role involves assessing patients, developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans, administering medications, and delivering health education to patients and families. The therapist collaborates with healthcare teams, offers clinical leadership, and supports continuous learning to enhance care delivery. Additional duties include participating in quality improvement activities and completing assigned goals.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current state license and RRT credential per the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Recent clinical respiratory care experience, including hospital, home care, or skilled nursing settings.
• Basic computer literacy with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation.
• Licensure exams for RCPs completed, with BLS certification required within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
