The RRE Work Management Specialist (WMS) supports the work management process by developing schedules and job plans that enable barrier‑free work execution, supporting daily and weekly operations and maintenance activities, ensuring required station resources are available, and driving process improvements that make work safer, more productive, and cost competitive.

Core work management responsibilities include developing weekly schedules and job plans; determining appropriate GL accounting for work orders; conducting inventory searches and establishing minimum inventory levels; researching parts using drawings and manuals; completing new‑item requests and stock justifications; creating purchase requests; managing the equipment repair process; and preparing single or sole‑source justification requests.

The WMS coordinates and communicates throughout work preparation and execution, monitors and tracks activity progress, prepares reports, and ensures lessons learned are captured, evaluated, and incorporated to support continuous improvement. The role also directs, coordinates, and reviews the activities of internal staff and contractors to ensure tasks, projects, and duties are completed safely, accurately, and on time. Work is performed with minimal supervision, with incumbents expected to develop advanced skills and increasing independence over time.

Maintenance Coordination – Establishes and reinforces work priorities for Maintenance functions and activities. Ensures maintenance work is performed in accordance with work management procedures and maintenance protocols. Monitors overall station Maintenance activities and advises the Maintenance Team Supervisor (MTS) as appropriate. Contract Resource Coordination – Provides coordination, direction, quality assurance, field oversight, and job coordination for work performed by supplemental and contract resources. Identifies and removes barriers affecting work execution and supports adherence to approved work plans and schedules, with emphasis on safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and timely completion.

Planning – Develops barrier‑free plans that facilitate safe and efficient work execution, including verification that required materials and resources are available. Drives process improvements that increase productivity and cost competitiveness. Communicates regularly with Supervisors and Equipment Experts/Owners to keep job plans current, incorporate improvements, and ensure work is planned according to established priorities.

Scheduling – Develops resource‑loaded daily and weekly schedules that promote high resource productivity. Adjusts Maintenance team schedules as conditions change, accelerates additional work when capacity becomes available, and reassesses work that falls behind schedule.
