Job summary

Pulmonary Associates of Richmond is seeking a fully registered Sleep Day Technologist to work PRN at our sleep centers in Virginia. You will score studies, educate patients on CPAP therapy, manage data downloads, and coordinate with the DME for initial setups.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• RPSGT credential and VA state license required.

Responsibilities

• Score nighttimesleep studies per guidelines and generate reports.
• Educate patients about CPAP therapy and perform mask fittings.
• Perform download of CPAP machine data cards.
• Troubleshoot CPAP mask and machine issues with patients to improve compliance.
• Coordinate with DME for initial set ups and fax paperwork; assist with RXs for new equipment.
• Respond to voicemails and EMR messages within PAR timeframes.
• Document patient activity and calls in EMR.
• Coordinate home sleep studies and upload completed studies for physician review.
• Fax sleep study results to referring physicians.
• Maintain cleanliness of lab and disinfect equipment.
• Communicate with night techs about patient needs and questions.
• Perform other duties as required by providers or management.

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 an hour based on experience

The Position: We are looking for an experienced, fully registered, and Certified Sleep Day Technologist to work at our Sleep Centers. Our sleep staff are dedicated to patient care – that’s what makes our Sleep Disorder Center known as the “Gold Standard” for sleep medicine in Virginia. This position is a PRN position.

Job Responsibilities for Sleep Day Technologist PRN

• Score nighttimesleep studies, including sleep / wake stages and clinical events according to acceptedguidelines and clinic protocols, and generate accurate reports by tabulatingdata.
• Educate patients about CPAP therapy and perform mask fittings.
• Perform download of CPAP machine data cards
• Trouble shoot CPAP mask and machine problems and work with patient to find solution to increasecompliance.
• Coordinate with DME company regarding patient’s CPAP machine: complete and fax paperwork for initial set ups, write and fax RX for initial set ups and new equipment, assist with patient questions and equipment problems, etc.
• Respond to voicemails and EMR messages within timeframe as set byPAR.
• Accurately document patient activity, phone calls, etc. in EMR
• Coordinate home sleep studies: Instruct patients on the proper use of the home sleep unit, complete all paperwork, upload completed studies for physician review, etc.
• Fax sleep study results to referring physicians.
• Trouble shoot sleep software and equipment.
• Evaluate sleep study related equipment and inventory.
• Maintain cleanliness of lab by cleaning and disinfecting equipment
• Communicate with night techs regarding patient needs, questions, etc.
• Perform other duties as required by the providers, manager or member of Administration.

Qualifications for the Sleep Day Technologist PRN

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• RPSGT credential andVA state license required.

Physical Demands:

• Sitting for long periods of time as well as occasional standing and walking.
• Manual dexterity for using a computer keyboard and office machines.
• Ability to view computer screens for long periods.
• Occasional stress related to workload demands.
