Job summary

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Sleep Lab Technician to perform comprehensive sleep evaluations, including polysomnography, and provide patient care and education. The role requires working nights with a flexible schedule and supervision under the Sleep Lab team.

The candidate will support data collection, calibration of equipment, electrode application, and scoring of sleep stages per guidelines; licensure requirements include RPSGT and BCLS.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in polysomnography or related sleep study field.
• RPSGT certification required
• BCLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient data to determine testing parameters with the ordering physician.
• Prepares, calibrates, and adjusts sleep lab equipment to ensure proper function.
• Applies electrodes and sensors and conducts PAP mask fitting.
• Performs tests such as MSLT, MWT, and oxygen titration with accurate data collection.
• Monitors data quality and resolves artifacts to maintain signal integrity.
• Documents sleep stages and events to support scoring and reporting.
• Implements patient-specific PAP therapy and oxygen as appropriate.
• Scores events and prepares reports for physician review.
