Job Summary

Senior Survey Project Manager manages survey tasks and resources through project completion.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, executes and coordinates surveying services on assigned projects.
  • Utilizes creativity, foresight, and judgment to anticipate and solve technical problems.
  • Prepares scope and budgets for assigned projects.
  • Markets the firm’s services and attends practice‑related functions.
  • Ensures all work is performed to professional standards and guidelines.
  • Maintains working knowledge of survey procedures, quality control and legal principles.
  • Establishes excellent working relationships with clients and associates.
  • Ensures all work produced meets or exceeds industry standards.

  • Reads communication styles of team members and contractors from diverse disciplines.
  • Obtains cooperation from a wide range of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

Work Environment
  • Operates mainly in a professional office environment using standard equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
  • May occasionally work at landfills, construction sites, and similar locations.
Education, Certification And Experience
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS).
  • Twelve years of direct project‑management experience, covering all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Solid knowledge of current survey equipment and software, including Carlson and AutoCAD.
  • Strong familiarity with project‑management methods and strategies.
  • Hands‑on experience with practical survey and pipeline construction methods, including survey control, boundary recovery, topographic and hazard survey, construction staking, field design, and as‑built methodologies.
  • Practical knowledge of State Land Survey Requirements and client standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Primarily a sedentary role that requires communication with potential clients, teamwork, and interaction with upper‑level management.
  • Regular movement within the office to use professional office equipment and occasional safe movement at field construction sites.
  • May require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, bending or standing on a stool.
  • May involve lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
