Job summary

Magrym Consulting, Inc. seeks an experienced RPLS Project Manager to oversee land surveying projects from initiation through completion in Houston.

You will coordinate field crews, CAD staff, and clients to deliver on time and on budget, while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Texas RPLS, 6+ years in surveying or related fields, and strong organizational and communication skills; comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Texas RPLS license.
  • Minimum 6+ years in land surveying, civil engineering, or construction PM.
  • Experience with boundary, ALTA/ACSM, topographic, and construction staking surveys preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with multi-project management ability.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full project lifecycle: scoping, scheduling, field coordination, and deliverable review.
  • Serve as primary client contact with regular status updates.
  • Coordinate survey crews and CAD/drafting staff for alignment of field and office work.
  • Review survey data, plats, and legal descriptions for accuracy prior to delivery.
  • Track project budgets, invoicing milestones, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, platting rules, and utility coordination (e.g., 811).
  • Manage documentation, permits, and easement research.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts and resource needs across active projects.
  • Support proposal and bid preparation for new projects.

Job description

The RPLS oversees land surveying projects from initiation through completion, coordinating field crews, survey technicians, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

  • Manage full project lifecycle: scoping, scheduling, field coordination, and final deliverable review
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, providing regular status updates
  • Coordinate with survey crews and CAD/drafting staff to keep field and office work aligned
  • Review survey data, plats, and legal descriptions for accuracy prior to client delivery
  • Track project budgets, invoicing milestones, and change orders
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing boards, local platting/subdivision regulations, and utility coordination requirements (e.g., 811/call-before-you-dig)
  • Manage project documentation, permits, and easement research
  • Identify scheduling conflicts and resource needs across active projects
  • Support proposal/bid preparation for new projects/
  • Must have a valid Texas RPLS License.
  • 6+ years of experience in land surveying, civil engineering, or construction project management
  • Familiarity with boundary, topographic, ALTA/ACSM, and construction staking surveys
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar survey/CAD software preferred

  • Understanding of platting, subdivision, and municipal permitting processes a plus
