Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Utility Coordination Inspector to join our Construction Management team in Atlanta. Under limited supervision, monitor ROW construction and maintenance activities to ensure permit compliance and safety regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities include documenting site conditions with GPAS/GUPS, inspecting work zones for proper traffic control per MUTCD and GDOT, and coordinating with owners, developers and contractors through pre-construction and final acceptance stages.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
3 years of transportation experience involving construction inspection, utility coordination or environmental regulation enforcement.
Knowledge of GDOT's Utility Accommodation Policy & Standards manual, guidelines and procedures.
Experience with industry software (MS Office, GPASS/GUPS) preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect ROW construction and restoration to ensure compliance with GDOT permits and safety regulations.
Detect unpermitted work and enforce encroachments, with authority to issue Stop Work orders.
Document site conditions using GPAS/GPASS and log daily activities.
Verify traffic control in work zones per MUTCD and GDOT specifications.
Coordinate pre-construction meetings and review procedures with owners, developers and contractors.
Perform final inspections and compare as-built with approved plans before releasing bonds or accepting projects.
