Job summary

Maine Department of Transportation in Augusta, ME is seeking a technically skilled professional to oversee the Official Business Directional Sign program, right-of-way control, interstate logo program, and related signage issues across the state.

You will collaborate with municipalities, legislators, and the department's legal division to resolve violations and advise on sign-related matters, visiting communities statewide to keep signage up to date.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in either right-of-way functions, municipal zoning, or other directly related experience which includes budget processing.

Responsibilities

• Bill businesses and receive payments for the OBDS and Logo programs.
• Processes sign applications
• Work with municipal staff, legislators, Department staff and customers to find solutions to issues regarding locations and illegal obstructions in the Right of Way.
• Head up the waiver/license committee for sign waivers initiated by municipalities, individuals, and businesses.
• Respond to stakeholders with answers regarding MaineDOT's sign programs and right of way.
• Assist legislative liaison with any legislative document (LD's) regarding sign issues and help draft appropriate responses on any rule‑making that needs to happen as a result of the LD's.
