Job summary

State of Wyoming is seeking a Lands Management Program Supervisor in Cheyenne to lead the Right of Way team, oversee acquisition activities, and balance landowner rights with public interests. The role focuses on ensuring project readiness, legal compliance, and effective stakeholder collaboration across WYDOT programs.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and relevant real estate or land management experience, with opportunities to influence statewide land acquisition and property

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1–2 years of progressive work experience in real estate, appraisal, acquisition, or title work.
  • Alternatively, 4–6 years of progressive work experience with equivalent knowledge.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to eminent domain and land records.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages a production unit of the Right of Way Program.
  • Directs and oversees right-of-way engineering, title examination, State and Federal land procurement, appraisal, acquisition, and management of removal of improvements and sale of excess lands while assuring compliance with Federal and State Eminent Domain Statutes.
  • Assigns, prioritizes and monitors section work production.
  • Coordinates legal issues with the Wyoming Attorney General.
  • Directs supervision of Engineering Technician, Appraiser, Acquisition Agent, and Title Examiner/Relocation personnel.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and guidelines; maintains proper paperwork in line with guidelines.
  • Negotiates and prepares documents for right of way acquisitions.
  • Attends meetings with WYDOT, Attorney General's office, Cities, Counties, and other agencies.
