Job summary

Hokanson Companies, Inc. is seeking a Roving Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the operation and maintenance of multiple commercial properties.

This role requires regular travel between assigned locations and the ability to work independently, prioritize service requests, and adapt to changing maintenance needs. The technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, monitor equipment data, and coordinate with property

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; HVAC, mechanical, electrical knowledge preferred.
• Minimum three years of commercial building maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of boiler and HVAC system operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with digital controls, BAS, and CMMS.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage maintenance across multiple properties.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between locations.
• Basic computer proficiency and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel between assigned properties to perform scheduled maintenance and respond to service requests.
• Operate and maintain facility equipment (boilers, air compressors, water treatment, pumps, motors, valves).
• Perform preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor and analyze equipment data; respond to alarms and abnormal conditions.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and control systems.
• Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and parts inventory for each property.
• Coordinate with managers and maintenance team to prioritize work across locations.
• Support energy management and conservation by optimizing equipment operation.
• Respond to emergency calls involving equipment failures and malfunctions.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and management on upgrades and capital projects.
• Adhere to safety policies and regulatory requirements.
