Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Route Service Manager to deliver batteries and service a fixed dealer route. You will collaborate with dealers to optimize battery mix, ensure quality programs, and strengthen relationships for better dealer retention.

You will load and unload routes, maintain asset records, and handle sales, warranties, invoicing, and paperwork with accuracy. The role may require overnight routes and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Able to read, write, and compute basic math.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Minimum one year of delivery and customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems.
• Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools is required (tablets, scanners).
• Demonstrates good organizational skills and can prioritize tasks.
• Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to work overtime if requested.
• Possibly overnight routes per week depending on location.
• Must have a clean driving record and meet driver qualifications.
• Must have and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Deliver batteries and provide service to each dealer on your route in a safe and timely manner.
• Load and unload trucks safely and maintain an accurate account of all company assets.
• Establish, build, and maintain dealer relationships.
• Keep displays and product clean, full, and rotated per consignment agreements.
• Accountable for managing a dealer account, including sales, consignment, warranties, rotates, cash collection, and invoicing.
• Complete delivery/route transactions and other paperwork on a timely basis.
• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
• Interact professionally with all stakeholders, including team members, managers, and customers.
• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
