Job description

The Route Sales Support Driver builds solid, positive working relationships with customers and is highly motivated to exceed their expectations and requirements. Vestis Uniform Services operates in a very competitive environment, and successful Route Sales Support Drivers must be able to balance exceptional customer service with meeting and exceeding individual sales growth goals. As advocates for the organization, Route Sales Support Drivers strive to generate goodwill and loyalty for the organization while performing their work in a professional manner at all times.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Safely operate a company step van in designated areas to provide products and services to clients.
  2. Verify daily preventative maintenance of the vehicle and maintain proper operator documentation.
  3. Manage daily routes independently to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
  4. Load/unload products per company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  5. Review invoices daily for completeness and accuracy, making corrections as needed.
  6. Meet sales goals and promote overall route growth to enhance profitability.
  7. Develop leads and prospects, call on prospective customers to solicit business, prepare service agreements, and install new accounts.
  8. Assist the sales organization with the procurement of additional new business.
  9. Possess a strong understanding of services, policies, and pricing methods, and communicate these clearly to customers.
  10. Monitor customer feedback and handle customer issues promptly and courteously.
  11. Prioritize personal safety and ensure the safety of others by using safe precautions, proper tools, and adhering to all safety policies.
  12. Perform other duties as required within the scope of activities described above.

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Must be at least 21 years old.
  2. Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
  3. Customer service experience with diverse customer contact.
  4. Strong math and basic computer skills.
  5. Experience selling services/products and generating new business is preferred.
  6. Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and quickly resolve customer concerns.

Working conditions include:

  1. Exposure to adverse weather conditions, including extreme hot/cold temperatures.
  2. A fast-paced environment with sometimes irregular and long hours.
  3. Physical ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of 25 lbs routinely, and occasionally over 50 lbs, including bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver’s license.
