About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Route Planner Specialist to join their logistics team based in Welkom . This role is instrumental in optimizing delivery routes for our fleet, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and punctuality. You will utilize specialized software to design and manage complex delivery schedules, taking into account various constraints such as traffic patterns, delivery windows, and vehicle capacity. This position requires a strong aptitude for problem-solving and a deep understanding of logistical challenges to support the smooth operation of services throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize daily delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles using specialized route planning software.
• Analyze traffic data, delivery time constraints, and vehicle capacities to create the most efficient routes.
• Continuously monitor and adjust routes in real-time based on unforeseen circumstances, such as traffic delays or customer requests.
• Collaborate with dispatchers and drivers to provide clear route instructions and support operational needs.
• Track route performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements to enhance service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies during route planning.

Requirements

• Proven experience in route planning , logistics coordination, or a similar role.
• Proficiency with route optimization software (e.g., Route4Me, OptimoRoute, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent understanding of geographical areas and traffic patterns relevant to Welkom and surrounding regions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple planning tasks simultaneously.
