Job summary

Continental in Akron, OH is seeking a Route Merchandiser to service vending machines and markets, deliver OCS orders, and maintain equipment cleanliness. You will use a company vehicle and a company tablet to track inventory and ensure product rotation, including checking expiration dates.

Proceeds from routes are recorded accurately. The role shifts Monday through Friday with occasional weekends, focusing on accurate inventory, safe loading/unloading, and attentive customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Prior experience in delivery, route driving, merchandising, or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient with computers, iPads, GPS technology, and basic inventory systems; ability to operate box trucks preferred.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Read, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory levels across product categories.
• Count, record, and order inventory following established protocols.
• Restock shelves, coolers, and other product displays with proper rotation.
• Remove, document, and handle out-of-date or rejected merchandise.
• Load and unload products using proper lifting techniques.
• Deliver merchandise using a company vehicle and ensure proper cold chain.
• Optimize route efficiency to reduce drive time.
• Monitor cooler temperatures and report deviations.
• Collect money from kiosks following cash-handling protocols.
• Perform routine cleaning of equipment and POS areas.
• Inspect product quality and report defects.
• Initiate service requests for equipment issues.
• Train new Route Merchandisers as needed.
• Perform additional assignments as needed.
