Amwaste is currently hiring a Route Manager for their Birmingham, AL operation. Job Summary: As an Amwaste Route Manager, you will serve as the hub for drivers, customers, operations management, and customer service, ensuring effective communication and high-quality service.

Some key duties include:

  • Handling incoming service orders, directing drivers, and resolving service issues.
  • Assisting with problem resolution across various lines of business, including roll-off, residential, and commercial collection.
  • Interacting with customers and sales staff to ensure satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This list provides a general scope of responsibilities:

  • Ensure team members get home safely every day.
  • Perform driver observations to verify service quality and safety.
  • Dispatch drivers efficiently based on customer needs, driver locations, and daily operational factors.
  • Assist in determining daily driver staffing levels to optimize responsiveness and productivity.
  • Assign routes and trucks to drivers for efficient completion of daily routes.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails from customers and sales department regarding pick-up or container delivery requests, ensuring service guarantees.
  • Make outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site to resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems proactively.
  • Record and share information from drivers with relevant departments.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations management to resolve equipment and driver issues.
  • Review Drive Cam coaching events and help reduce incidents through process improvements.
