Job summary

The Route Driver position at Canteen, part of Compass Group USA, drives a company vehicle on an established Jacksonville route to deliver products and maintain micro market equipment. You represent the company and build strong client relationships while upholding professional standards and safety.

Qualifications

• 3 years driving experience required.
• Preferred 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service position, or a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Valid Non-CDL Class C driver’s license (unless otherwise indicated by state).
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Ability to operate or willingness to learn material handling equipment (box truck, handcarts, etc.).
• Able to work independently, responsible for route, work unsupervised 98% of the work day.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper inventory levels and product distribution for micro market.
• Provide client and customer satisfaction in every aspect of job performance.
• Display a clear understanding of company policies and ability to administer as needed.
• Performs routine cleaning and sanitation of micro market and other related equipment.
• Conducts minor service and adjustments on markets; reports defective equipment as needed.
• Prior to beginning each day’s route, ensure truck is loaded with all product required to service markets.
• Inform regular clients of new products or services and resolve service complaints.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or distribute promotional materials.
• Account for all receipts of goods, invoices, delivery tickets, and cash.
• Conduct inventory reconciliation per district procedures.
• Keep company vehicle clean and organized; perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Perform all job functions in a safe and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
