Job summary

The Route Driver – Micromarket at Canteen in Jacksonville, IL is a full-time position starting at 6:00 am, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday 4-hour shifts. A valid driver’s license and driving experience are required; lifting up to 50 lbs and basic equipment handling are needed.

Training is provided and the role focuses on inventory, service, and customer relations. Pay ranges from $21.62 to $35.00 per hour, with eligibility for commissions or bonuses per policy.

Qualifications

• 3 years driving experience required.
• Preferred 1-2 years customer service or 1 year related experience.
• Valid Non-CDL Class C driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to operate or learn material handling equipment (box truck, handcarts).
• Able to work independently and be responsible for route unsupervised most of the day.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory levels and product distribution for micro markets.
• Provide client and customer satisfaction in all aspects of performance.
• Adhere to company policies and ensure proper administration.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of micro markets and related equipment.
• Conduct minor service and adjustments; report defective equipment as needed.
• Load truck with products before each day’s route following procedures.
• Inform clients of new products and resolve service issues.
• Set up merchandise and promotional displays; distribute promo materials.
• Record receipts, invoices, delivery tickets, and cash.
