Job summary

Nexair in Kentucky is seeking a dedicated route delivery driver to safely upload, deliver and retrieve hard goods orders and cylinders containing compressed gas. You will maintain load manifests and communicate with customers about costs, timing, and delivery, while operating forklifts and pallet jacks and following DOT safety standards.

This full-time hourly position requires a CDL with HazMat, a clean MVR, and the ability to work outdoors, lift heavy cylinders, and occasionally work overtime

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year driving experience.

• Clean MVR driving record.
• Able to read and comprehend MSDS.
• Able to lift and handle cylinders up to 600 pounds and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Upload, deliver and download hard goods orders and cylinders safely to customers; return empties for refilling.
• Maintain load manifests and vehicle documents balanced with truck counts and shipping papers.
• Develop and maintain good customer relations; inform customers about costs, ordering, and delivery times.
• Monitor customers' needs and manage inventory levels to minimize emergency deliveries.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment; follow safety rules.
• Work overtime as required.

Job description

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Upload, deliver and download safely to customers hard goods orders, as well as, cylinders containing compressed gases; return empty cylinders to plant for refilling.
• Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.
• Establish and maintain good customer relations, by communicating in person with customers, providing information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc.
• Identify and monitor customers' needs and work with them to maintain proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to minimize or eliminate emergency deliveries.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
• Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One (1) year driving experience.
• CDL A or B with HAZMAT.
• Employee must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by the DOT.
• Clean MVR driving record.
• Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete for an extended period of time, bend, use hands and arms, must be able to handle cylinders regularly weighing 150 pounds, up to a maximum of 600 pounds. The employee also occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and hazardous materials and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
