Job summary

Secure Shredding and E-Recycling (SSER) seeks a Route Driver based in Baton Rouge to cover daily customer stops at offices, hospitals, banks, and other facilities. Drive a shred truck on-site and back to the warehouse while maintaining confidentiality and a professional demeanor.

The ideal candidate will have a chauffeur’s license, a clean driving record, and at least 3 years of commercial driving experience. A background, drug test, and DOT physical are required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English fluently to communicate with customers, vendors and team members.
• Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license.
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years commercial driving experience.
• Must have at least a chauffeur’s license.
• Ability to pass a background, a drug screen, and a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and care when handling customer sensitive information.
• Operate shred truck on-site and transport confidential documents between locations.
• Display a customer-first attitude at all times.
• Complete company-mandated paperwork and service requests.
• Serve as liaison between customer and office and communicate on-site issues to staff.
• Follow safety practices and company procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe truck and perform pre/post trip checks.

Job description

Secure Shredding and E-Recycling (SSER) is committed to protecting its clients’ confidential information by providing NAID-certified services such as shredding, record destruction, and e-waste recycling. Due to the growing demand for our services, we are looking to grow our team by adding a Route Driver. The Route Driver will be based at of our Baton Rouge office and will be dispatched to a daily schedule of customer stops. Customer stops include doctor’s offices, hospitals, banks and many other professional settings. While on-site, the driver is expected to conduct himself/herself with utmost level of professionalism and the utmost level of care when handling customer documents and other materials.

Role and Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and care when handling customer sensitive information.
• Use the shred truck to shred documents on-site and/or use the shred truck to transport confidential documents back to the warehouse.
• Display a customer-first attitude at all times.
• Undergo training on all relevant company software programs.
• Complete company-mandated paperwork regarding customer service requests (issues with containers), services performed, etc.
• Serve as a liaison between customer and office which requires communicating any on-site service issues to the office staff.
• Comply with all appropriate safety practices and procedures according to applicable federal, state, local, and company codes/regulations/ requirements.
• Maintain open lines of communication with other team members as necessary.
• Display a commitment to safety at all times especially when driving company vehicle to and from customer sites.
• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of truck.
• Maintain a clean truck.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
