Job summary

Branch is seeking an experienced Rough Grade Motor Operator in Winchester, VA to join our Civil Division. The role operates a self-propelled motor grader on rough grade work, including highway shoulders, slopes and ditches, ensuring safe, quality progress.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of construction techniques and 1-3 years of rough grade operating experience, plus working knowledge of OSHA regulations. DOT experience is a plus; strong dependability and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction techniques.
• 1 to 3 years of rough grade motor operating experience.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• DOT experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Scraping and leveling dirt on roadway.
• Spreading and mixing materials on roadway.
• Shaping and blading subgrades.
• Balancing and rough shaping base course materials.
• Fine grading and dressing of shoulders and slopes.
• Routine cleaning of equipment and work area.
• May perform other related duties.
