Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Rough Finishing Machine Operator in a manufacturing setting to operate and maintain finish equipment used on aerospace castings. You will follow engineering instructions, verify part data, and ensure quality while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ months of manufacturing, machine operation, grinding, finishing, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, routers, and safety procedures.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or quality concerns.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate industrial equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine equipment or process issues.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate rough finishing equipment, including cut-off, sandblasting, knockout, trim cut, and grinding machines.
• Review engineering instructions, specifications, and routers before processing parts.
• Verify part numbers, heat numbers, and previous operation sign-offs.
• Inspect parts throughout the process to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Identify cracks, heat checks, defects, or damage and elevate concerns to supervision or engineering.
• Place completed work in designated locations for the next operation.
• Report equipment issues or malfunctions promptly.
• Follow all safety requirements and ensure guards and shields are in place during operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
