Job summary

Volumetric Building Companies (VBC) is seeking a Rough Carpenter in Berwick, PA. The role involves measuring, cutting, and assembling lumber per blueprints, building walls, roofs, and framing, and ensuring structural integrity on-site.

Strong carpentry experience and ability to work with hand and power tools are essential. We offer a competitive hourly pay range and benefits, with standard hours M-F and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of carpentry experience, including framing.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and measure to specifications.
• Strong physical strength and stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying postures.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to work with accuracy and safety on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Accurate measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber and other materials.
• Assemble materials using screws, nuts, bolts, and air-powered tools.
• Build walls, roofs, floors, and frames per design and blueprints.
• Construct windows, doors, stairs, and flooring.
• Ensure structural integrity by following blueprints and blocking.
• Inspect materials for defects and troubleshoot deviations from design.
• Maintain clean job sites by clearing debris.

Responsibilities

• Accurate measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, and other building materials
• Attaching building materials using screws, nuts, and bolts, andair-poweredguns
• Building wooden structures, including walls, roofs, and flooring, according to design and blueprints
• Constructing window and door frames as well as staircases and flooring
• Ensure the structural integrity of floors, walls, and ceilings by blocking according to blueprints
• Examining building materials to identify any defects
• Identify deviations from design and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
• Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• 2 years of carpentry experience, including framing
• Physical strength and stamina
• The ability to interpret blueprints
• The ability to accurately measure to specifications
• The abilityto safely use hand and power tools
• The ability to lift, push, pull at least 50 lbs; bend, stoop, and kneel repetitively; and reach above the shoulder to work
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizationalskills

Additional Information

• The Pay Range for this position is $22.32 - $28.32 per hour based on experience and qualifications. We also offer the following benefits:
