Job summary

Air Methods in Murphysboro, IL seeks a pilot to ensure airworthiness and safe transport of medical crews and patients within an assigned area. You will comply with FAR, AIM, and GOM, and uphold Air Methods policies throughout operations.

Responsibilities include aircraft operations, thorough pre-flight checks, documentation, and timely flight planning. You will engage in meetings and community outreach while maintaining high safety standards and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 2–5 years related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Flight hours and certifications per DOT/FAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
• Final authority for operations of aircraft and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment.
• Familiar with aircraft and medical systems; ensure team is comfortable with interior and systems.
• Complete required documentation.
• Conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice.
• Participate in meetings, projects, committees and outreach.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
