Job summary

Life Flight Network in Hawaii is seeking a Rotor Wing Pilot to operate aircraft safely for critically ill patients. The role requires strong aviation skills, a commitment to safety, excellent customer service, and clear communication under pressure.

You’ll work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, perform pre- and post-flight inspections, plan flights, analyze weather, and travel within LFN’s service area while meeting driver and vehicle requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5 years' experience as a professional pilot preferred.
  • 2000 hours Total Time required.
  • 1500 hours as Pilot in Command
  • 1000 hours R/W Turbine time required
  • 75 Instrument hours total - with at least 50 hours in aircraft instrument time required
  • 100 hours of unaided nighttime required
  • Pilots with air medical transportation experience preferred
  • Pilots with NVG experience preferred
  • Mountain experience preferred; evaluated case-by-case.
  • Must hold a FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • Must have and maintain a FAA second class flight physical
  • Performs pre- and post-flight inspections; plans flights; loads passengers; analyzes weather conditions
  • Maintains logs and records; prepares written reports
  • Operates aircraft tug, tractor, and/or ground handling equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent grammar; verbal and written communication, and customer service skills
  • Travel by personal or company vehicle within service area is required
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and meet policy requirements

  • Operate aircraft safely to facilitate care of patients.
  • Work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Drive personal or company vehicles as needed.
  • Perform pre- and post-flight inspections and load passengers, baggage, and cargo.
  • Plan flights and analyze weather conditions.
  • Maintain logs and reports.
  • Travel within LFN’s service area as required.
  • Meet Driver's Policy requirements and vehicle readiness
