Job summary

Douglas Dynamics, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Rotomold Operator to join our team and help produce plastic parts for snowplow and ice control products. You will set up, operate, and monitor rotational molding equipment to ensure quality and safety standards.

You will prepare molds, load materials, perform quality checks, and assist with maintenance. Collaboration across departments and potential overtime or alternate shifts are possible to support production goals.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills required.
• Computer literacy required.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulders and outward.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate rotational molding equipment according to production specifications.
• Load and unload molds, ensuring correct placement of resin, inserts, and components.
• Monitor molding cycles, machine settings, and product quality throughout production.
• Perform mold changes, basic machine adjustments, perform upkeep and preventive maintenance.
• Trim, finish, and assemble molded parts as required.
• Inspect parts for defects, run test cycles and perform quality audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor equipment operations; identify and correct issues, assist with troubleshooting, and elevate as needed.
• Operate a powered industrial truck as needed for material handling.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to support production flow.
• Keep work area organized and ensure molds, tools, and equipment are clean and properly stored.
• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions promptly.
• Participate in training, team activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to company policies and conduct guidelines.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
