Job summary

Wausau Tile in Wisconsin is seeking a dedicated machine operator to support daily production by setting up molds, selecting tools, securing molds to rotating arms, and running the RotoForm molding cycles to produce consistent plastic components.

You will read production paperwork and blueprints, perform basic mechanical tasks, measure materials, demold finished parts, handle light assembly and scrap recycling, and maintain a clean, organized work area while following preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• Able to read production paperwork, blueprints, and spec sheets.
• Comfortable with basic mechanical tasks, machine setup, and tool use.
• Experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred.
• Skilled in the safe use of impact drivers, hand tools, and lifting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review daily production schedules and job specifications.
• Select appropriate molds, tools, jigs, and materials.
• Secure molds to rotating machine arms using hand tools.
• Inspect and adjust molds as needed prior to production start-up.
• Operate the RotoForm machine through full molding cycles (heating, rotating, and cooling).
• Accurately measure and pour plastic powder or granules into molds.
• Secure mold closures using cordless or pneumatic tools.
• Monitor process timing and conditions to maintain product consistency and quality.
• Demold and inspect finished plastic components.
• Perform minor modifications or light assembly using hand or pneumatic tools.
• Cut excess plastic using a band saw and process scrap via pneumatic chipper for recycling.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tool storage and supply restocking.
• Follow preventive maintenance protocols and report equipment issues promptly.
