Job summary

Redline Plastics in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a 2nd shift Machine Operator to run rotational molding machines and monitor finished parts for quality. You will follow safety rules, keep accurate production records, and collaborate with supervision to meet daily metrics.

This role requires the ability to perform material handling, setup assistance, and basic math while maintaining a clean, organized workspace in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. 2pm–10pm shift.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior rotational molding experience preferred.
  • Ability to access work instructions on computer platforms.

2nd shift Machine Operator

Responsibilities

The primary result expected from the Machine Operator position is to operate rotational molding machines as designated under the supervision and direction of operations leadership. The Machine Operator will monitor the quality of the plastics parts after they are demolded to ensure the parts are to quality standards.

  • Operates rotational molding machines to meet or exceed plant metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale/Inventory.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
  • Performs but not limited to the following tasks: material filling, deburring, molding, all bench operations, and inspection of product.
  • Safely works at a pace that meets company expectations e.g., parts per hour or minutes per part as quoted to customer.
  • Accepts and receives frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set-up.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.

Experience and/or Training: Prior rotational molding experience preferred.

Licenses/Certificates: No requirements.

Technology/Computer Equipment: Ability to utilize computer platforms to access work instructions.

Physical and Mental Demands
  • This position is required to constantly stand and walk.
  • It is necessary for this position to frequently climb stairs throughout the day.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders may be required.
  • Frequent use of hands and wrists on both large and small items, e.g., screws, bolts, nuts to service the molds.
  • Able to focus and work at a continuous pace for extended periods of time.
  • 15 to 25 lbs. frequent lifting.
  • 20 to 40 lbs. occasional lifting.
  • Manual dexterity is required to perform normal day to day functions.
  • Must always demonstrate patience to successfully work through frustrating challenges and present oneself in a calm professional manner.
  • Must have the ability to work with and around others.
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Working Environment

The main working environment for this position is the standard manufacturing plant environment.

The plant environment is climate controlled in some areas, however, will include exposure to heat and hot surfaces, cold, noise and odors. Personal protective equipment is required in appropriate areas. There may also be intermittent exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts and tool vibration.
