Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a radar operations professional to operate ROTHR radar systems and support mission critical tracking across extensive coverage areas. The role requires maintaining a DoD Secret clearance and U.S.

citizenship, with on-site work at the Chesapeake, VA facility. You will monitor radar data, model ionospheric propagation, and configure frequency and system parameters to ensure accurate detection and reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three years RADAR Operations / technical school.
• Four years of applicable experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance and to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Responsibilities

• Operate ROTHR RADAR system, desktop PC-based platforms for monitoring and tracking surface and air contacts.
• Model ionosphere layers and assess propagation using PC-based resources.
• Select radar frequencies by interpreting the ionospheric model and assign parameters.
• Monitor and adjust radar resources to meet tasking; support ROTHR tracking software for validation and reporting.
• Monitor HF radio links and interact with Agile Client terminal for track data.
• Obtain technical guidance from supervisor and execute tasks accordingly.
