Job summary

NOV in Houston is recruiting graduates for a Software Engineer role as part of the Pathway Rotational Program within Rig Technologies. This one-year program offers hands-on assignments and exposure to multiple groups across NOV, with the goal of placement in a full-time role after completion.

On the software engineering track, you will design and write software for drilling equipment, maintain documentation, assist in training and troubleshooting, and develop and debug software prior to release.

Qualifications

• Graduating May 2027 or recent graduate (0–2 years) from listed programs.
• Experience and proficiency in one or more programming languages (C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python) and/or PLC software such as STEP 7/TIA Portal and RSLogix.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; self-directed and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Design and write software for drilling equipment and/or applications.
• Assist in development and maintenance of software documentation including updates after release.
• Provide support for implementation, training and troubleshooting of software products.
• Develop and debug software prior to release.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot associated hardware as required.
• Collaborate with customers and review project documents to understand requirements.
• Participate in design reviews.
