• Endorsement in chief engineer (limited) or assistant engineer (limited) for propulsion vessels.
• Ability to log maintenance tasks into ship management software.
• Must work collegially with scientists and professionals on board.
• Must be a member or willing to become a member of the union.

Responsibilities

• Engine room operations: monitor propulsion and auxiliary systems.
• Maintenance and repair of propulsion, power generation and related equipment.
• Stand engine room watch and respond to alarms.
• Adhere to safety procedures and international maritime regulations.
• Inventory management of spare parts and consumables.
• Participate in emergency drills and response procedures.
• Document maintenance activities, performance, and fuel use.
• Collaborate with engineering team and deck officers.
